A judge has fulfilled The Game’s wish to have a new trial. You may recall Game was ordered to pay $7.1 million to Priscilla Rainey, a woman who claims he groped her while she was a contestant on his VH1 reality show. Part of the reason Rainey was awarded the judgment was because Game did not make his court appearance. According to the rapper, he was under strict orders from his dentist not to travel after undergoing emergency surgery, which meant he couldn’t leave Los Angeles for Chicago.
The Game requested a new trial, or that the judge lower the judgement amount, which he says was “monstrously excessive.” Unfortunately, at the time of his motion, all of the paperwork was not filled out correctly, thus causing the judge to deny his request.
Now it seems Game has everything in order and the judge is allowing the rapper to return to court and argue why he should get a new trial and pay way less damages to Rainey.
The court date has been scheduled for January 26.
