It’s official: “Grey’s Anatomy” star Jesse Williams has finalized his divorce from Aryn Drake-Lee.
It’s been a rough three years since William and Drake-Lee departed after more than four years of marriage. According to Us. Weekly, a judge signed off on the former couple’s divorce; the papers were filed on Friday, October 9 after the two reached an agreement in September 2019.
Drake-Lee and Williams will both have joint legal and physical custody of their daughter and son. They each must notify the other if they plan on posting photos of the children on social media. He was also ordered to pay her $40,000 a month in child support, but he will keep the $936,810 he has earned from Grey’s Anatomy since the two broke up. A judge released him from paying spousal support after he settled two outstanding payments from 2019, according to the outlet. The former couple will keep both of their own cars but Drake-Lee will keep the family’s house in Los Angeles, their home in New York and their home in Oakland, California.
The breakup allegedly stemmed from disputes surrounding finances and custody. Williams filed for joint physical custody in 2017, claiming that Drake-Lee was denying him more time with their children. She clapped back by asking for sole custody, naming reasons due to his unpredictable work schedule, a dangerous driving accident, and an alleged “revolving door” of women she claims he involves himself with.
In June, Williams was ordered to temporarily pay Drake-Lee more than $100,000 a month in child and spousal support, with the court noting his “extraordinarily high” monthly salary of more than $521,000, Us. Weekly reports.
Hopefully, these two can one day make amends.
