Gucci Mane is calling on the US government to investigate Pooh Shiesty’s prison conditions.
In the wake of many celebrities being released from prison, the Atlanta rapper is requesting Pooh Shiesty’s prison treatment be investigated. In a recent Instagram post, Gucci explained that Shiesty is living in inhumane conditions while at the United States Penitentiary Pollock (USP Pollock) in Grant Parish, Louisiana.
“We do not pay attention to how inmates in the US are treated. @PoohShiesty has been sent to a prison over 1500 miles from his home, 23 hr lock down and given empty food trays,” Gucci continued. “USP Pollack should be investigated immediately.”
In the caption of the post, Gucci wrote “this is unacceptable” and tagged President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, and included the hashtags, “#movepooh” and “#prisonreform.”
Shiesty was arrested for a shooting that took place in South Florida in 2020. Initially, the rapper faced an eight-year sentence but later accepted a plea deal that reduced his time.
Earlier this year, Shiesty was transferred from Turner Guilford Night Correctional Center in Miami to USP Pollack. Back in May, the conditions of his release were confirmed. Shiesty will remain on supervised release for three years following his sentence and will not be allowed to meet up with any of his co-defendants during that time.
