Former NBA champion Iman Shumpert has revealed that his father, Odis Wayne Shumpert II, has passed away. On Instagram, Iman shared several photos of his father with a touching caption announcing his death.
“Down goes the King…a sweet goodbye to the greatest man I’ll ever know. You can take your rest pop, u did ur s**t I promise. I don’t know if I’ll ever fit ur shoes, but ima have em on everyday anyway. I love you man. Rest In Paradise Odis Wayne Shumpert II,” he wrote.
In the caption, Shumpert honors his father as “the greatest man I’ll ever know.” He has often spoken about the impact his father had on him, both on and off the court. An online obituary confirms Odis died on October 27. However, a cause of death has not yet been revealed.
