The #Intrepid Sneaker is getting a little inspiration from the track clubs of the 1980s. To commemorate the Olympics, the #FromSeoulToRio, a #RonnieFieg and #Diadora collab, uses the faint pastels of previous decades to give a vintage appeal to the kicks. Only 500 pairs of the Italian handmade beauties have been crafted and we can now understand why. The detail is insane.
The tumbled nubuck and velvety suede upper is color-blocked with a soft rose, ash’ed nautical blue, and pale rustic orange. The crisp freshness of mint green appears at the heel and side panels of the shoe’s silhouette. The cloud-gray that is found at the base of the toe and its sides, emerges again towards the heel of the sneakers offsetting the creamy midsole. The outsole takes a lesson in color blocking as well with the color scheme reappearing. The tongue and heel tab offer a splash of retro color. Two sets of multi-colored laces are included with the kicks giving #sneakerheads different takes on sporting the hotness. This exhibition of retro dopeness dropped Saturday, Aug. 20 for $180 at KITH stores (online: KITHNYC.com). Did you cop or nah?
