Ja Rule & Fyre Festival Organizers Sued For $100 Million

In case you’ve been living under a rock, Fyre Festival has been the talk of social media. The two-weekend-long festival, which was to take place in the Bahamas and feature musical acts such as Migos, Tyga and Blink 182, ended up being a disaster.

The festival was promised to be an upscale experience and was promoted by tons of A-list models and celebrities. Tickets ranged from $1,000 to $12,000, but when concertgoers got there, they were met with a “Hunger Games” adventure, rather than the luxury experience they were promised. Not only was the food not up to par (they were served cheese and bread, but promised gourmet chef-prepared cuisine), most concertgoers found themselves “stranded” on the island and unable to get back home.

Ja Rule and his partner, Billy Mc Farland, have since apologized about the disastrous festival, promising that next year, if they return, will be better. However, it may be too little, too late. A lawsuit is already in the works.

The lawsuit was filed by concertgoer Daniel Jung, and his attorney, Mark Geragos, and claims that Fyre Festival organizers outright lied about festival accommodations. The suit also mentions the FEMA tents that were used, despite being described as luxury accommodations. He says the festival lied about the safety of their event and that concertgoers were not protected from the alleged wild animals roaming the festival grounds.

Lastly, the suit claims that the A-list celebrity attendees were warned before hand not to come to the festival, that it was going to be a disaster.

Check out photos from the festival grounds below.
