Jeannie Mai is opening up about the moment she found out her marriage to Jeezy was over.
The media personality sat down with the “Jennifer Hudson Show” during Monday’s episode, where she revealed that she only found out she was getting a divorce when the media reported on it.
“I think I’m doing better now, you know. I think at the time when I found out at the same time as the rest of the world that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted,” Mai told Hudson.
Jeezy filed for divorce from his media personality wife on September 14th at the Fulton County Superior Court. Per the court docs, the “All There” rapper said the marriage had “no hope for reconciliation.” While the exact details regarding their separation remain unknown, Jeezy shared in an interview with Nia Long that they had tried counseling to no avail. Just days ago, new court documents revealed that he requested a formal custody agreement after Mai allegedly failed to abide by their arrangement for his daughter, Monaco. Mai fired back with a filing of her own, suggesting that Jeezy was unfaithful, thus making her eligible for compensation outlined in their prenup. Via his representative, Jeezy has denied that he ever cheated on Mai. Nevertheless, the talk show host says Monaco has been helping her get through the break-up and will be spending Christmas with her side of the family in San Jose, California.
Jeezy has not publicly commented on Mai’s claims to have found out about the divorce online. However, what once seemed an amicable split is now slowly turning messy before our eyes. Hopefully, these two can end things on a positive note.
