Jordyn Woods presented her NBA boyfriend Karl-Anthony Towns‘ with a beautiful portrait of his late mother Jacqueline, as a tribute to her nearly a year after her death.
Woods commissioned her brother John, who belongs to Jaden Smith‘s creative collective MSFTS, to paint the portrait for Towns. Towns’ mother passed away in April of 2020 after a battle with Covid-19.
Jordyn posted a photo of Towns on Instagram, holding the finished portrait with the caption, “It’s about to be a year since @karltowns lost his queen,” she wrote.
“We loved this young picture of his mom so much, and I wanted to do something to honor her, she explained. “My brother @jwoodzart is one of the most talented people I know and was the only person I trusted to capture her essence. This experience never gets easier, you just get stronger.”
Towns thanked Woods in a post on his Instagram Story by sharing a picture of the back of the portrait. “To my King who was raised by a Queen I love you,” Woods’ wrote on the back.
“Love you too babe,” Towns wrote.
