Until former NFL player Ed Hartwell coughs up the $32,000 he owes ex-wife Keshia Knight Pulliam, Pulliam may continue her petition to the court to enforce her ex-husband to pay a $5,000 fine and spend three weeks in jail.
Actress and reality tv star, Pulliam wed Hartwell in 2016, but after 6months as newlyweds, the couple filed for divorce, both claiming the marriage was “irretrievably broken,” with no chance of reconciliation. Pulliam at the time was pregnant with their first and only child, which Hartwell publicly questioned paternity. Pulliam alleges she endured cruel treatment from Hartwell while she was pregnant, which caused her to fear for her mental and emotional health.
According to court records obtained by Bossip.com, a Judge ordered Hartwell to pay $3,007 a month in child support for their 2-year-old daughter Ella. And although a financial affidavit shows Hartwell receives $9,000 a month from NFL disability, he pays less than half of his monthly amount. He has now accrued $31,647 in child support debt. To make matters worse, Hartwell has also defaulted on a previous court order to pay his ex-wife $8,000 in utilities and move out expenses, $800 for a paternity test, and $5,000 in attorney fees.
Pulliam is fed up with her ex-husband’s inconsistency to be there for Ella, going as far as accusing him of being a deadbeat and missing the first year of their daughter’s life.
Even though Hartwell can afford to pay child support, he shows no regard for the court-ordered child support or his responsibilities as a father. In her complaint, Pulliam states that Hartwell’s “intentional conduct is reprehensible and completely contrary to the well-being and best interests of the parties’ minor child.”
As of April 21, Hartwell has yet responded to Pulliam’s petition.
Hopefully, an amicable agreement can be made between the two.
