After nearly two months behind bars, Kirk Franklin‘s estranged son was released from jail and thanked his dad. He was let out on June 1.
Kerrion was arrested in April and initially without bond due to his current warrants. The warrants all stemmed from him failing to appear in court for misdemeanors in 2007.
Radar Online reported, “The charges were listed as falsely representing self to officer, possession of purported government issued California driver’s license/California identification, and possession of alcohol under 21.”
Now, Kerrion is a free man and just uploaded his first selfie to Instagram since his release, though he announced that his legal troubles were far from over. At least he can be in the comfort of his home during his ongoing legal battles.
He said, “When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it all great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. The journey is not over yet 1 more case left to handle.”
He ended the post, #TeamKerrion and thanked his mother and father. If you didn’t know, the father and son haven’t gotten along ever since the gospel artist threatened to put his foot up his son’s a** from a fight in 2021. Kerrion released the audio, leaving the artist flooding the internet with “sorry.”
Franklin said, “Sincerely sorry to all of you.” He continued, “I sincerely apologize. I want you to know as a father, that during that conversation, I called the family therapist and got that therapist on the phone to try to help. He never played that part of the recording.”
He hasn’t talked to his son since his imprisonment and has yet to respond to his son’s release.
