Boyd, a former Minnesota Vikings draft pick, joined the Jets in March after a stint with the Houston Texans. He has yet to make an appearance this season while recovering from an offseason injury.
The Jets, who had Sunday off after a Thursday night game against the New England Patriots, confirmed awareness of the shooting but offered no additional comment.
The investigation remains active as law enforcement continues its search for the suspect.
