Got damn..it’s been only two games and the Redskins released Larry Johnson.
According to Redskins.com:
The Redskins have released running back Larry Johnson, the team announced on Tuesday.
Johnson played in two games for the Redskins this season, serving in a reserve role and recording five carries for just two yards.
His last carry was a 10-yard loss in the fourth quarter of the Redskins’ 30-27 loss to the Houston Texans last Sunday.
In a statement, Redskins general manager Bruce Allen said: “We appreciate Larry’s attitude and contributions to the Redskins. However, we needed to make a roster move in preparation for this week’s game against the Rams.”
Johnson, 6-1 and 230 pounds, entered the 2010 season with 6,219 career rushing yards and 55 touchdowns in eight seasons spent mostly with the Kansas City Chiefs. He earned two Pro Bowl berths along the way.
Johnson grew up in nearby Promfret, Md.
