What if paying for your last parking ticket only cost you a pack of pencils, binders, and notebook paper?
Well, with a new plan approved by Las Vegas City Council, local residents will be able to pay off parking violations by donating school supplies.
According to a press release, the program runs through mid-July and accepts a long list of school supplies equaling or greater than the value of the fine.
New and unwrapped supplies, such as copy paper, dry erase markers, and sticky notes must be received within 30 days of the infraction date, along with a receipt.
Through the program, all supplies will be donated to Teachers’ Exchange, a nonprofit associated with the Public Education Foundation.
