Lil Wayne finds himself hit with a surprising legal matter from a former security guard.
As per legal records obtained by TMZ, it is reported that the New Orleans rapper is accused of brandishing a weapon and physically assaulting his former bodyguard, Carlos Christian. Christian alleges that this incident occurred in December 2021 at Wayne’s residence in Hidden Hills, California.
The individual asserts that Wayne made a threat to shoot him with a semiautomatic rifle, and he viewed this threat seriously, taking into account that the rapper had previously served eight months at Rikers Island in 2010 due to a firearms-related charge. During the altercation, Christian claims that he reached out to law enforcement. However, individuals close to Wayne dispute this account, stating that the incident never occurred and further claiming that the five-time Grammy Award-winner does not possess a firearm.
On that particular day, at approximately 1:40 p.m., law enforcement officers arrived at Wayne’s residence. Although the rapper was not present at the time, Christian reported a verbal dispute with the artist that escalated into a physical altercation. According to Christian, he sought refuge in the guard shack of the gated community after Wayne allegedly confronted him with the previously mentioned AR-15 rifle.
Reports indicates that tensions flared when Wayne accused Christian of leaking photos to the media, subsequently instructing him to leave the premises before displaying an AR-15. It’s worth noting that sources associated with Wayne disputed Christian’s claim, saying that the rapper did not own a firearm.
Christian is now pursuing both compensatory and punitive damages in connection with the alleged incident. He contends that he incurred medical expenses, lost income, and endured emotional distress due to the alleged assault.
