In an exclusive interview with Madame Noire, Loni Love addressed allegations that he had Tamar Braxton fired from The Real, as well as the talked about moment when Amanda Seales made a few facial expressions as Loni spoke about her weight loss.
Former friend of Love, Cookie Hull, recently sat for an interview with Comedy Hype, where she accused Love of being instrumental in Tamar’s firing from the hit daytime show. However, Love denied the claims.
“I wouldn’t describe Tamar Braxton as a ghetto girl. I might say that we believe in the power of being ourselves. But ghetto girl?! I would never do that. And also, there’s a lesson in this. When you try to help people, you have to watch who you help. I’ve never been against any Black woman,” she said.
Love was also in the news recently after new host Amanda Seales made some questionable facial expressions when Love spoke about her weight loss during the show. But, Love defended her co-host, saying that Seales simply did not know how to react.
“But there was also another component about it, which was Amanda, who didn’t understand because she’s new to the show. She didn’t understand. She personally called me, and she was like, ‘Yoo…you were talking, and the next minute you started crying.’ And it’s like, “Girl, that’s what we do on the show. It’s called “The Real.” It caught her off guard, and that’s why you see the reaction that she had. She was like, ‘Do you want to do an IG?’ I said, ‘No, Amanda, this is a show. This is “The Real,” and this is what we do.’ And like I said, she didn’t have time to come back and go, ‘Loni?’ We just had to get out. So, it is what it is.”
After the interview was published, Tamar took to social media to seemingly address the mention, tweeting, “Whew..I’m so over that Chile with my name in her mouth AGAIN *cues choir..* picks up microphone sings… iiiiiiiii know I’ve been changed. join me tomorrow on Instagram LIVE at 9 pm est! Can’t wait to answer all, and I mean ALL of your questions on #asktayanything.”
