A 4-year-old Louisiana girl is dead, and her mother and grandmother face charges after she was forced to drink a bottle of whiskey.
Roxanne Record, 53, and Kadjah Record, 28, were both charged with first-degree murder in the death of little China Record.
On Thursday, the two observed the girl taking a sip from a bottle of Canadian Mist whiskey, which made them angry. In order to teach China a lesson, Roxanne reportedly made her finish the bottle, which was over half full. According to court documents, Kadjah was “present and failed to stop” the grandmother.Â
The girl was placed in a bathtub and became unresponsive. When police officers arrived, the little girl’s blood-alcohol level was .680. That is more than eight times the legal limit for someone to drive.Â
Both women are being held in the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office without bond.Â
The Daily Beast reports that China’s siblings had spoken with investigators. No other information was immediately available.Â
