34-year-old Zachary, LA schoolteacher, Ella Rea Silva, has been held on a $225,000 bond by the East Baton Rouge Parish prison since this past Thursday.
The school teacher who teaches at Northwestern middle school is being formally charged on counts of felony carnal knowledge of a minor, indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. She was placed on administrative leave from work in January.
The investigation is being handled by the Zachary Police Department & the East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s office.

Allegedly, Silva initiated contact with a 15-year-old student via school email addresses where nude videos & pictures were sent, later discontinuing correspondences through the portal in fear of being caught.
According to the Complex, the unnamed teenage boy told authorities they “had sex 8 or 9 times”, adding he wanted to be with her openly, but she advised against it because “the disclosure would affect her career and family.”
“Immediately, when it was brought to our attention, we reported it to law enforcement and placed the employee on administrative leave. No one is covering up anything, nor sweeping anything under the rug. We are following the law, and I am unable to comment beyond this information.” says Scott Devillier, Zachary schools, Superintendent.
It’s been reported that Silva’s child was also present in the home at the time of the encounters. Silva was also accused of purchasing a THC Vape pen for the boy.
