A man remains behind bars for allegedly killing his girlfriend and dumping her remains in a dumpster in Bogota, Colombia.
John Poulos, 35, was charged with the alleged murder of his girlfriend, Colombian DJ Valentina Trespalacios, according to the Daily Mail.
Authorities say the incident occurred on January 22nd, just one month after the couple celebrated their impending marriage on Twitter.
Twitter users resurfaced the story earlier this week after some users found old tweets from Poulos, including one where he posted a picture of him and Trespalacios along with the caption, “Invited a Colombian woman on vacation without meeting her first- we’re getting married.”
He is also accused of subscribing to Andrew Tate’s misogynistic ideology and was connected to “passport bros,” which is a trend of men who frequently travel abroad to date foreign women.
Poulos is the father of three and has been in custody since January 24th, Know Your Meme reported.
He faces 35-50 years in prison if convicted.
