Miami Dolphins running back Mark Walton has been accused of assaulting his pregnant girlfriend.
On Tuesday, ESPN retrieved a police report alleging that Mark Walton pushed his 5 weeks pregnant girlfriend into a wall and continued to punch her in the face and head. According to the publication, the incident occurred at 4:15 am on Tuesday morning in Davie, Florida, after an argument. Officials were called to the scene, and upon arrival, police noticed swelling around the woman’s left eye and arrested Walton on a charge of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman.
This isn’t the first time the 22-year-old has been in legal trouble as he was arrested three times last year within three months and was ultimately released by the Bengals last season. Reasons for the arrests consist of weapons, drugs, and battery chargers.
Before being released from the Dolphins, Walton was also serving a four-game suspension due to his past legal troubles.
Dolphins General manager spoke out Tuesday, stating, “We were made aware of a police matter earlier this morning regarding Mark Walton. We hold our players to a high standard and take these matters very seriously. We will have no further comment at this time,” he added.
Sources report that Walton found out he was the father of the child on Sunday.
