It’s no secret by now that Megan Thee Stallion and her record label 1501 Entertainment have their differences, as she and label CEO Carl Crawford have been battling it out in court and the media.
After Crawford attempted to block the” Hot Girl Summer” rapper from releasing her latest EP ‘Suga,’ the judge sided with Megan, allowing her to release music as planned.
Now, Megan has secured another small win as the judge has denied the label’s request to “compel Megan’s case to arbitration,” Billboard reports.
On March 11, Crawford of 1501 Entertainment filed paperwork attempting to have the rapper’s case decided by a single arbitrator, citing their official contracts state that any disputes made throughout the course of their business relationship, would be handled in arbitration.
But, Not only did Texas Harris County Judge Robert Schaeffer deny Crawford’s motion to compel arbitration, but he also denied Crawford’s request to stay that case, the outlet confirms, meaning the case will pursue as planned.
“We are obviously very happy with the court’s decision and look forward to litigating this case,” Megan’s attorney Richard Busch said in a statement to Billboard.
