A Former Victoria’s Secret Model Claims Agencies Encouraged “Lots of Sex” and Cocaine

Bridget Malcolm claims she was told to do cocaine and “have lots of sex” to lose weight when she was an underage model working for brands like Victoria’s Secret.

The experiences led to severe anxiety, anorexia, PTSD, and a push for change in the industry.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Malcolm revealed why she decided to speak out about her negative experiences working as a young model, telling followers she is finally feeling happy after years in recovery.

“By the age of 18, I’d lived in three countries alone. I traveled to all continents except Antarctica. I’ve been groomed by a much older man. I’ve been sexually assaulted multiple times. I’ve been told to do cocaine to lose weight by my agent, been told weekly, and have been under a lot of pressure to lose weight by my agencies,” Malcolm admitted in the video.

She also said modeling agencies told her “to just have lots of sex to lose weight.” The directive was given to her when she was underage and also struggling with her gender identity.

Malcolm revealed that she had a nervous breakdown on her 26th birthday after developing disorders like PTSD, anorexia, orthorexia, anxiety, and depression. The model claims she eventually “couldn’t socialize without drinking” and became reliant on drugs Xanax and Ambien to function.

The 29-year-old said she’s now able to speak about her experiences because she’s been sober for over two years and in recovery from eating disorders for four years.
