Morris Chestnut Addresses Deadbeat Dad Accusations (VIDEO)

Back in January, 27 year old Dante Lamont Chestnut took to his Facebook page to air out Morris Chestnut, the man he says was his father, as being a deadbeat. According to Dante, Morris and his mother were together prior to the Boyz In The Hood fame, and once Morris became more famous, he left his then family, for his new one. Morris Chestnut has 2 children with the woman he’s been married to since 1995. Read the details HERE

Morris Chestnut appeared as a guest on The Breakfast Club where he explained touched on Dante’s allegations. “They haven’t been giving all the details about what’s been going on,” Morris explained. “Back when I was 17 years old, I had a consensual friendship with someone. It wasn’t a relationship. We never went on dates. We never went to eat.”

Morris did admit that he and Dante’s mom did have sex, however. “After a while she came and told me she was pregnant. At that time I was 18 years old and I was like, ‘okay, I’m gonna step up and do the right thing.’ I never run from my responsibilities.”

Morris Chestnut goes on to explain why Dante would air him out. “I don’t fault him for saying what he’s saying. I feel that he’s been told lies all of his life by his mother. He says that I all of a sudden up and left and got another family after ‘Boyz In The Hood’ came out, but that’s not what happened. What happened was she [his mother] put the baby on me, I tried to step up and do the right thing, we were together for the wrong reasons, we tried to make it work [but we] were together, breaking up, together, breaking up. Then all of a sudden the movie comes out and this time when we broke up instead of it being a regular break up, I’m getting hit with a paternity suit.”

The tea gets juicier too. Morris goes on to say, “At that time we had to take a paternity test and it came out that I was not the father. I understand where he’s coming from because he’s been lied to and brainwashed all of his life and I think people should really ease up on him. I really blame her to a certain extent because she’s been saying stuff on the internet for years.”

Morris says that Dante, who shares Morris’ middle and last name, was about 3 years old when the DNA results came in. He claims that he asked Dante’s mother to tell him who his real father was so that they could establish a relationship. Morris says that never happened, and though he didn’t tell Dante he wasn’t his father at 3, he sat Dante down when he was 9 years old and explained he wasn’t his dad. He says that was the first time Dante ever heard the truth.

“It’s a delicate situation for everyone involved. With him, I don’t really blame him. I’m disappointed but it’s something that I thought his mother was telling him.”
