Nearly seven years after being released from prison, New Orleans rapper Mystikal has been indicted on charges of rape and kidnapping.
Police issued a warrant for the rapper’s arrest in connection to a rape that occurred back in October 2016. According to KSLA, in August, the rapper turned himself in at Caddo Correctional Center to “get this business reconciled, get this behind me, man.” However, just one month later, the rapper, whose real name is Michael Lawrence Tyler, was indicted on one count each of first-degree rape and second-degree kidnapping with a bond set at $3 million. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
According to reports, 26-year-old Averweone Holman and 42-year-old Tenichia Wafford were also indicted in the same case. Holman, whose DNA was also recovered at the scene during the initial investigation, was indicted on one count each of rape and kidnapping. His bond was also set at $3 million, while Wafford was indicted on a obstruction of justice charge with a $500,000 bond.
Back in 2003, Tyler was sentenced to six years after pleading guilty to sexual battery and extortion. The rapper served the full six years and was released in January 2010, with requirement to register as a sex offender in Louisiana.
