NCAA exits the player and team memorabilia BUSINESS

Now if you are a College Football fan then you know that Mark Emmert is the President of the National Collegiate Athletic Association. This is the same nonprofit association that is investigating Texas A&M’s quarterback Johnny Manziel for possibly signing autographs and memorabilia for PROFIT. ESPN analyst Jay Bilas took on the NCAA, and he tweeted screenshots of what it looked like if you put some of the NCAA’s college football athletes names in the search box on the SHOPNCAAsports.com site. Well isn’t it IRONIC that THE NCAA was selling player jerseys and making a PROFIT.

After this happened, the search engine was shut down on the SHOPNCAAsports.com. The NCAA President eventually came out and stated that they were wrong to be in that business. The NCAA president further stated that he did not know how long the company they “HIRED” to run the website have been doing this. Right now in federal court, former players and current college players are suing the NCAA over the use of the athlete images and likenesses.

ESPN’s Jay Bilas stated on a radio show, “Anytime you make money off someone while restricting them to zero, I consider that exploitation…” It certainly puts an egg on their face & makes them look bad. A feeling they are pretty familiar with as of late…The people are piling on Johnny Manziel like he’s the first person to ever have done this.” What do you think?
