The popular show on Netflix, “Quarterback,” is getting a spinoff.
‘Recevicers’ will highlight several of the hottest wide receivers (and one tight end) in the league. The show will follow Minnesota Vikings’ Justin Jefferson, Las Vegas Raiders’ Davante Adams, Detroit Lions’ Amon-Ra St. Brown, San Fransisco 49ers’ Deebo Samuel, and tight end George Kittle.
The series will premiere in the summer with eight 45-minute episodes, showcasing the receivers’ journey during the 2023 NFL season. The series will also highlight injuries, tough losses, and interpersonal situations.
There’s a lot to cover as Kittle and Samuel made it to the Super Bowl but lost to the Chiefs in overtime, battling injuries throughout the season. The show promises to be entertaining as it follows the duo in San Francisco. Justin Jefferson will be seen working through contract disputes with the Minnesota Vikings, while also being out for the first half of the season as his team struggled to win throughout the season.
Amon-Ra St. Brown is a grinder with a true underdog story on a team without a playoff win in over thirty years. Making history and the season leading up to that victory is a masterful story within itself.
This project is also produced by NFL Films in addition to Omaha Productions, which is owned by Peyton Manning.
He is excited to hear what the fans have to say about the spinoff of their hit series.
“We are excited to be working again with Netflix and NFL Films to give fans unprecedented access to what it’s like to play a receiver at the highest level,” Manning said in a statement. “As we did with Quarterback, we look forward to telling the stories of five incredible receivers, each with their unique personality, skillset, and motivation for what drives them to be the best.”
