Nicole Murphy Apologizes For Kissing “Family Friend” Antoine Fuqua

Nicole Murphy is offering her apology to both her family and Lela Rochon in the wake of her kisses caught by paparazzi with married director Antoine Fuqua.

On Saturday, the model, 51, was photographed kissing Fuqua, 53, by a hotel’s pool in Italy. Fuqua has been married to actress Lela Rochon since 1999, and the pair share two children.

“Antoine and I (are)friends. We ran into each other while we both were in Europe,” Murphy said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE. “Without going into the entire situation, I want to apologize to my family, and to Lela and the Fuqua family for what transpired.”

Nicole’s heartfelt apology continued, “I do not condone women kissing or interacting in any way inappropriately with a married man,” she continued. “I too was once married, and I would never intentionally undermine another woman, despite what has been written.”

According to TMZ, Murphy was somehow under the impression that the marriage between Antoine Fuqua and Lela Rochon was “over” and that the director was single— hence why the interaction between the two was so “cozy.”

Insiders claim Nicole feels terrible about her mistake. Reps for both Antoine Fuqua and Lela Rochon declined to offer any comment.
