An affluent pharmaceutical executive was followed for 50 miles from a Pennsylvania casino to his home in New Jersey, where he was brutally murdered in an attempted robbery as his wife and daughter were sleeping inside.
The 54-year-old executive, Sree Ranga Aravapalli, won about $10,000Â early Tuesday morning at the Parx Casino in Bensalem when he was spotted with the winnings by 27-year-old Jekai Reid-John, of Norristown, Pa.
Reid-John followed the man in his car as he drove back to his neighborhood in Plainsboro, NJ.
Plainsboro police responded to a report of shots fired in Aravapalli’s neighborhood at around 3:30 am, officials said.
Police found Aravapalli at the scene with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Investigators determined that it was an attempted robbery.
