Odom To The Mavs & Chris Paul Will NOT Go To The Lakers

I waited until this morning to post this because details were changing all over the place. As of today, according to Yahoo Sports two things in this trade saga are very clear: Lamar Odom-Kardashian will be joining the Dallas Mavericks and the Lakers and Hornets could not reach a deal for Chris Paul so it’s all off the table.

Word is, after expressing displeasure in LA’s now failed trade, Dallas stepped in to take the Laker’s star.  “He wanted out and they really wanted to reduce the tax bill” one GM says. The irony of the whole thing is that Lamar must still sit out 5 games after the flagrant fouls he inflicted on his now current team mates. It’s so cold in the D! I guess we can look forward to Keeping Up With The Kardashians in Dallas now.

As far as Chris Paul the Lakers have bailed on the idea and are still hoping for a chance at Dwight Howard. After the 3-way trade deal to obtain Chris Paul fell apart, sources say that the Lakers are now unable to give the Hornets what they need. Let’s keep in mind why Stern shot down the deal in the first place. With the Hornets being a league owned team Stern wanted to keep the All Star point guard on the squad to drive more potential owners to the team, in turn maximizing the selling price. It’s all about money. The team needs a star and now the Lakers can’t provide that and no other team wants to step in. Things may not be looking up for the Hornets since CP3 has expressed he does not want to stay on the team.
