Oklahoma City Thunder Clinch 2025 NBA Championship with Game 7 Victory

The Oklahoma City Thunder won their second NBA Championship, defeating the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in Game Seven of the NBA Finals. It marks their first title since relocating to Oklahoma City.

Perennial MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander closed out the season with 29 points, 12 assists, two blocks, and one steal—a true close-out performance for potentially the new face of the NBA.

Pacers All-Star guard Tyrese Halliburton went down with a lower leg injury after battling a lingering calf strain from Game 5. It was a devastating way for the Pacers’ season to end and a heartbreaking conclusion to this legendary series.

Legendary Pacers guard Reggie Miller penned a message to Pacers Nation, thanking the team for bringing life back into the organization. He added that there is a “master plan” God has in store for Halliburton and the franchise.

Head coach Rick Carlisle started his press conference praising his point guard, Halliburton.

“What happened with Tyrese, all of our hearts dropped… He authored one of the great individual Playoff runs in the history of the NBA.” 🗣️

Halliburton is set for Achilles surgery. Carlisle still decided to go eleven deep in the game that defined their season. It was a disappointing end to the season for forward Pascal Siakam, who played only 36 minutes, finishing the game with 16 points, four rebounds, and two assists.

A legendary series that adds to the legacy of this Oklahoma City Thunder team, whose second-half defensive display defined their season and exemplified their identity. A young team that will aspire to do the same thing again next year.
