It’s that time of year when football is returning to the big screen, the holiday season is rapidly approaching, and a popular fast food chain is launching a new flavor.
For a limited time, Popeyes is offering a brand new Sweet and Spicy flavor in honor of all the sweet and spicy grandmas of the world.
According to PEOPLE, sweet ‘n spicy wings—marinated and cooked crispy and drenched in chili, garlic, and ginger- have been added to the menu ahead of game day gatherings. The wings were inspired by “sweet and spicy grandmas” in honor of National Grandmother’s Day on Oct. 8.
Select Popeyes locations in New York, Los Angeles, and New Orleans will give out special greeting cards for grandmas with the purchase of a $5 Popeyes gift card. The giveaway starts on Sept. 25.
Orders of six wings for this limited-time flavor start at $6 and are currently available at participating Popeyes locations.
Popeyes is also celebrating another big item on its menu this month: its famed chicken sandwich, which caused a frenzy in 2019.
On Aug. 12, guests were offered a BOGO deal on the iconic sandwich in honor of its fourth anniversary. Customers could buy a combo meal of any iteration of the sandwich – the original, which was released in 2019, or its spicy or blackened version– to receive a free a la carte sandwich of their choice.
