Prince Harry and Meghan Markle had no plans to ask the United States to cover the cost of their personal security.
On Sunday, Donald Trump took to Twitter address the royal couple’s recent move to the states from Canada, months after the two stepped down from their royal positions.

“I am a great friend and admirer of the Queen & the United Kingdom,” Trump wrote. “It was reported that Harry and Meghan, who left the Kingdom, would reside permanently in Canada.”
“Now they have left Canada for the U.S., however, the U.S. will not pay for their security protection. They must pay,” he continued.
But apparently, no one had even asked for the United States’ protection, in fact, according to a spokesperson for the couple, “Privately funded security arrangements have been made.”
“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have no plans to ask the U.S. government for security resources,” the spokesperson told Fox News.
According to PEOPLE Magazine, the couple has been staying in a secluded area in Los Angeles, but it remains unclear when the two made the move.
