On Tuesday, R. Kelly sat down with Gayle King to address his alleged history of mental, emotional, physical and sexual abuse of young and underage girls for the first time since his most recent indictment.
In the interview, Kelly denied all wrongdoing and slammed critics for re-sparking outrage over “old rumors,” ultimately making it impossible for him to have a relationship with his children. But now, just hours after CBS aired Kelly’s explosive interview, the self-proclaimed Pied Piper has been re-arrested over another legal matter, which ironically involves his children.
Last month, Kelly was ordered to pay $161k to his ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, for unpaid child support. However, at that time, Kelly was behind bars, struggling to come up with the $100k payment to post bail.
Lucky for him, he was later released with financial help from a close friend. But, with a deadline of March 6 to pay his debt, Kelly was in a race against time to raise the minimum amount to stay out of jail. However, when he showed up to court on Wednesday to address the legal issue, deputies escorted the singer out of the courtroom and re-arrested him.
Now, according to TMZ, the singer will have to pay the full amount to be released.
