The rap game heated up when Rick Ross unleashed his fiery track “Champagne Moments,” a direct clapback at Drake’s earlier diss. This track from Ross came swiftly on the heels of a leak revealing Drake’s sharp lyrical digs at several big names in the industry including Kendrick Lamar, Future, and Metro Boomin.
Ross didn’t hold back in his response, kicking things off with a juicy reveal that Drake allegedly got a nose job to avoid resembling his father. The drama escalated with Ross mentioning he’d unfollowed Drake on Instagram following a cease-and-desist letter Drake supposedly sent to French Montana. Over a dramatic backdrop of pounding beats and violins, Ross took jabs at Drake’s authenticity and even mocked the way his diss track was leaked rather than confronting issues directly.
“N***as leakin’ their records when we speakin’ directly/If we keepin’ it gangsta, when you see me check me,” Ross laid down in his lyrics, indicating he’s more than ready for whatever lyrical battle might come next.
Ross’s sharp retort follows Drake’s own lines where he took a swing at Ross for intervening in his ongoing rap feuds, calling out Ross’s age and questioning his originality in music. Before dropping “Champagne Moments,” Ross hinted at the brewing storm on X (formerly known as Twitter), teasing followers about the “good game” ahead and encouraging them to “grab a seat.”
