According to TMZ, beloved singer/entertainer Prince has died. He was 57 years old.
This morning authorities responded to a medical emergency at Prince’s Paisley Park studio. It was soon reported that there had been a fatality and next of kin were being notified. Moments later, multiple sources connected to the singer confirmed he had passed.
Last week it was reported that upon leaving his concert in Atlanta, Prince’s plane had to make an emergency landing in Illinois due to the singer feeling ill. He had reportedly been battling the flu for several weeks and had only been in the air for a short time before his condition worsened. He was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated and released 3 hours later.
The following day, Prince made a surprise appearance at a concert in Paisley Park. He did not perform, but did show off his new guitar and let fans know that he was okay. “Wait a few days before you waste any prayers,” he told the crowd.
This death is a heavy one. Our thoughts and prayers to Prince’s loved ones. He will be missed.
