A pilot of a small plane was blessed to survive after his plane went down in the Savannah River.
Authorities say he escaped injury.
On Saturday, the Savannah air traffic control notified the U.S. Coast Guard watchstanders to report a downed aircraft at 11 a.m.
A rescue crew arrived on the scene 10 minutes after being notified and hoisted the man into a helicopter before transporting him to Savannah airport, Coast Guard officials reported.
