An 18-year-old male has been charged with first-degree murder after being identified as one of the perpetrators responsible for the shooting death of 7-year-old Jaslyn Adams in Chicago on April 18th.
According to the Chicago Police Department Press Release, Marion Lewis was arrested on Thursday and faces a first-degree murder charge along with 17 other felony charges, including one count of aggravated vehicular hijacking, three counts of attempted first-degree murder, and six counts of aggravated discharge of a firearm.
7-year-old Jaslyn was fatally shot while sitting in her father’s car outside of a McDonald’s on April 18. Her father, Jontae Adams, was also shot in the abdomen but survived his injuries.
Chicago police believe the shooting was gang-related, and more arrests are imminent as the investigation continues.
