The King of the South is retiring his involvement in trap music.
The Atlanta rapper introduced the world to trap music at 20 years old. Though it’s become a big part of him, he’s ready to move on as his music has evolved since.
While speaking with Bell Bellamy earlier this month, he talked about how his music has matured over time.
T.I. says, “I don’t have a trap music mindset.” He added, “You can tell that a 20-year-old wrote sh*t.”
Then the rapper talked about how “life is a series of adjustments” and referred to his rapping as a specific skill that he no longer needs to maintain in a way because he has evolved and adjusted to new life.
T.I.’s last album, L.I.B.R.A., debuted in 2020, and since then, the rapper has focused on his comedic career more. Even though he has a resume in the music industry, it apparently doesn’t help him in comedy.
It looks like you can catch the King of the South supporting his son, Domani Harris, in his new rap career.
