On Friday, Naomi Osaka confirmed she is expecting a baby girl.
Osaka, who dropped her Nike collaborated clothing line two weeks ago, posted the news on social media and pictures from what seems to be a baby shower.
The picture that quickly helped her fans learn the gender was of the four-time Grand Slam champion standing in front of a display of pink and purple balloons with a chyron that reads “a little princess.”
In January, Osaka and her boyfriend, rapper Cordae announced they were expecting. In March, Osaka told People Magazine that she knew the baby’s gender but was keeping it a secret from her Cordae.

During an interview with TODAY, the tennis star revealed the moment Cordae learned the gender.
“He knows the sex now — it was only a secret until we did the reveal party with our closest family and friends a couple of months ago,” Osaka said. “It was hard to keep it a secret, but I also knew it would be much more fun to surprise him and everyone else during the party, so it was worth the wait.”
She also discussed her desire to return to tennis in 2024 and her excitement about her child watching her compete for major titles.
“I think that moment will be surreal and I really look forward to the day that it actually happens,” she said. “It really does feel like a dream to think of my own child in the stands watching me, and I’m so excited that I’ve got that coming in the not-so-distant future.”
