Teyana Taylor took to Instagram to vent about her music career being over. The Harlem singer posted a photo of her Spotify Artist Wrapup. In 2020 Taylor received 162.8 Million streams in 92 countries. Apparently, her accolades were made independently with no major label or real industry support.
“I ain’t gone front in times of feeling super under-appreciated as an artist, receiving little to no real push from the “machine,” constantly getting the shorter end of the stick, being overlooked, I mean the list on and on,” she said.
Taylor is multi-talented and self-driven. She is a singer-songwriter, actress, dancer, choreographer, director, and model. She also announced that she would be putting an end to her music career.
“I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that I can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world! To all my supporters from day 1 & all my new ones, I love you, and I thank you for everything & don’t worry y’all know,” she said.
Teyana Taylor has been the embodiment of Harlem Culture for over a decade. We are very excited to see what this new chapter brings her and wish her much success on her journey.
