Rumors have been flying that Lonzo Ball could find himself a member of the Lakers organization if all goes well during the NBA Draft. However, if you think he needs any pointers from Kobe Bryant, you’ve got another thing coming — at least so says his father, LaVar Ball.
“I don’t need no advice from Kobe Bryant,” LaVar Ball told ESPN Radio’sMornings with Keyshawn Johnson. “I don’t need advice from Kobe Bryant. ‘Zo’s got to play his game. If they’re at practice and he sees something, and Lonzo listens to him or whatever, he’s good. … But it’s just not, ‘OK, I’m talking to Kobe, so now I’m going to be good.’ If Kobe sees something that ‘Zo is doing, then go from there. But I’m not trying to pattern after nobody.”
I mean, I get it, but does LaVar ever just chill?
In a recent interview with ESPN, Kobe Bryant said that he’s open to helping all players. Celtics’ Isaiah Thomas even revealed that the Black Mamba had been offering advice and watching game film with him.
“I’m around for all the guys,” Bryant told ESPN’s Jackie MacMullan about becoming a mentor. “Anybody can reach out. It’s an open book.”
Which NBA star past or present will LaVar Ball offend next?
