The Drama Continues: Did Nene Leakes Steal Yet Another Concept?

Just a few short weeks ago we posted a story about Nene Leakes being accused of stealing her “Girl Bye!” t-shirt design after purchasing a similar shirt from a Swank Blue boutique pop-up shop in Atlanta. It appears Nene didn’t stop there, however. From the looks of things, Nene may have just swiped Swank Blue’s entire pop-up shop idea, down to the design.

Three months ago celebrity stylist and fashion designer Olori Swank held a three day pop up shop in Atlanta for her clothing line, Swank Blue. She rented a space at 2115 Piedmont Rd and had interior/fashion designer Monet Masters custom design a unique shopping experience for the Swank Blue shop. Olori even tagged Monet on Instagram to make sure she got full credit for her work. For three days celebrities, fans and supporters stopped by to shop some of Swank Blue’s unique pieces. As you know by now, one of the notable attendees was RHOA’s Nene Leakes, who looked around and as we already know left with a “Girl, Bye!” tee.

Just a few days ago Nene announced that she was having a pop up shop of her own, which she dubbed “Nene Leakes Fabulous Pop Up Closet.” Ironically, not only did Nene have her pop up shop at the same Piedmont location as Swank Blue, she even enlisted the same designer Olori Swank tagged on Instagram. What makes matters worse is Nene appears to have borrowed Olori’s “pop-out box” wall and proudly displays the design for her thousands of followers.

HERE’S THE VIDEO OF MONET MASTERS INSTALLING THE WALL FOR SWANK BLUE

After Olori Swank’s events, the wall and all other designs were taken down and the retail space was returned back to it’s original state.

How odd is it that Nene comfortably swipes the ideas of a pop-up shop she allegedly bought a shirt she ended up “allegedly” copying. That’s pretty bold, don’t you think? This wouldn’t be the first time a big brand stole from a smaller one without a care in the world.
