Michael Jace, the actor who shot and killed his wife April in front of their two young sons, was found guilty of second-degree murder last month. Now, two years after the death of April Jace, Michael has received a sentence of 40 years to life in prison.
Jace admitted to shooting his wife once in the back and twice in the legs. Jace fought for a manslaughter verdict, mentioning that he only wanting to wound his wife, an avid runner, because he upset she asked for a divorce. However, a testimony from his 10 year old son sealed his fate. According to his son, Michael Jace was heard saying “‘If you like running, then run to heaven,'” before firing the second gunshot.
Jace’s 40-year sentence includes 15 years to life for the murder charge and 25 years to life for the gun enhancement.
June would have marked the Jace’s 13 year anniversary.
