‘The Simpsons’ Predicted Apple’s Vision Pro 8 Years Ago in ‘Friends and Family’ Episode

“The Simpsons” have once again predicted a new tech trend by foreseeing the emergence of Apple’s Vision Pro VR headset that dropped on Friday.

These futuristic devices, reminiscent of “Black Mirror,” are operated using eye and hand gestures, enabling users to immerse themselves in hyperrealistic VR experiences.

Apple sold out its initial stock of the gadgets, priced at $3,500 each, with customers purchasing approximately 200,000 units within ten days.

The Vision Pro, despite its recent release, was reportedly predicted by “The Simpsons” in 2016, adding to the show’s reputation for prophetic visions.

During the episode “Friends and Family,” Mr. Burns hires Marge, Bart, Lisa, and Maggie to act as his live-in virtual reality family, resembling a trial run for a headset remarkably similar to the Vision Pro.

After releasing the gadget to the public, chaos erupts as various Simpsons characters wear the headset, walking into lampposts and falling into manholes.

Users on social media noted the similarity between these images and dystopian photos and videos of people wearing Vision Pros in public.

These instances involved a tech enthusiast wearing the distinctive goggles on a New York City subway car and another individual in San Jose, California, interacting with unseen objects while wearing the Apple Pro, resembling eccentric behavior.

“Simpsons nailed how ridiculous people look wearing the Apple Vision,” said one X user.
