Amid the drama surrounding the cast of Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid,” which is set to star singer and actress, Halle Bailey, the media company has announced another new version of the classic story.
Ariel, Flounder, and Sebastian will be joining a whole new world for a live, stage version of the 1989 film, “The Little Mermaid.” With “Moana’s” Auli’i Cravalho as Ariel, Queen Latifah set to play the underwater villain, Ursula, and Reggae star Shaggy to voice the Caribbean crab Sebastian, “The Wonderful World of Disney Presents The Little Mermaid Live” is set to air live on ABC.
According to CNN, the production will be directed by Hamish Hamilton, in a “hybrid format” complete with sets, costumes, and music from both the film and the 2008 Broadway production. The show will air on November 5th.
