Tory Lanez isn’t holding back on his latest album PETERSON, especially when it comes to his legal battles.
Fans knew he’d eventually address his court case, but many were taken aback when Lanez dropped an entire track, “Verdict Day,” aimed at Roc Nation and his former attorney, Shawn Holley.
In the song, Lanez vents his frustration over his prison sentence and takes direct shots at Holley, claiming she worked in Roc Nation’s favor during his trial. He accuses her of playing both sides and betraying him, saying, “All the information I give her is at ROC. Y’all had my lawyer in y’all pocket she circling T’s.”
He then goes after Megan Thee Stallion, linking her to Roc Nation and alleging that they orchestrated his downfall. “And that’s why Megan always talked like jail was certain for me. It’s cause y’all paid for them ten years let’s keep it honest.”
He continues, “Pinocchio contracts in the back they was all severed. Shawn Holley that’s a name I would call special. Only a special person could rep you and wanna dead you. Go to your DNA expert and say don’t test you.”
Lanez’s then calls out the legal side of things, “She was in bed with my opposition like wedding vows. Started seeing f*ckery from bail amounts. The ones who pay her are trying to sue me over Zelle accounts.”
He also drops more bars that allude to the complex legal issues he’s been dealing with, including his belief that Holley was trying to ensure his loss.
It’s clear that Tory is using his music to air out the legal tension, leaving no stone unturned when it comes to addressing his beef with Roc Nation and the legal fight that has defined his recent months.
