Sometimes your ex’s just don’t go away.
Kylie Jenner learned that the hard way when her ex, Tyga, bashed her on Nicki Minaj’s Queen radio show on Thursday. The rapper took credit for developing names of her lip kits as well as making her more appealing to black people.
“You’ve got to look at the before and after,” Tyga begins. “She always had a platform and she was always destined to be what she was going to be regardless, but when I stepped in, there was a lot of codes being taught. It was like, ‘You could do this, you should start this, you should start doing your hair like this,’” Tyga, told Nicki Minaj.
Tyga went on to say “I don’t need to go online and tell people I did this and I’m the one helping her coming up with these colors and names on her lip line. It was a lot of stuff.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Kylie fans lashed out online over a man attempting to take credit for what the beauty mogul has accomplished. Interestingly enough, much of Twitter thought the comments painted Tyga in a sour light for what he did take credit for- admitting he helped Kylie appropriate black culture. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When asked about any hard feelings towards Travis Scott, the rapper responded, “It’s his time right now. You gotta let it ride. I ain’t got no beef with him.”⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Though the manner of the interview had a salty tone, fans took to Twitter with mixed reactions. Some felt the interview came at a convenient time, following Nicki Minaj’s personal beef with Travis Scott and baby mama, Kylie. Jenner was also seen avoiding Nicki at the VMA’s following her comments about the couple’s baby, Stormi.⠀
It can’t be ignored that it’s an ironic conversation for Nicki Minaj, considering her latest exchange with her ex, Safaree Samuels. Samuels took credit for some of Minaj’s penmanship and the rap star went into a frenzy. Nicki felt that it was chauvinistic for Samuels to take credit for work she claims was hers. Hmm.
