Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is making sure a content creator is paid properly after the NFL refused to credit him.
University of Miami student Kevin Fitzgibbons landed a promising contract with the NFL to cover game-day media for the season. However, after Hill used the 20-year-old’s phone to record himself doing a backflip during the October 15th game against the Carolina Panthers, the NFL revoked Fitzgibbons’ media credentials after the video was shared on social media. The clips raked up millions of views, though the organization was not pleased with the actions. The creator shared a video on Twitter, explaining that he might’ve lost his contract for good. Now, Hill has revealed he will be paying the young man’s salary.

“Me and KFitz, we’ve got a long history together. The news is something that I already knew. I told him ‘Don’t let this get to you. Just hold your head up. You’re still young. Continue to do what you love.’ Me and him are going to continue to work together,” Hill shared with reporters Thursday via The Athletic.
Though the amount is unclear, Hill said he would match whatever the NFL was going to pay Fitzgibbons for the season, adding, “That’s my guy.” The pair previously bonded over their shared love of content creation and videography.
The NFL confirmed they suspended Fitzgibbons’ contract because he should not have celebrated with Hill on the field. However, NFL spokesperson Brian McCarthy claimed the league had extended an invitation for Fitzgibbons’ to cover other sporting events.
