U.S. Army Member Charged In Illinois Bowling Alley Shooting

Illinois Bowling Alley Shooting

A member of the U.S. Army has been charged today in the deadly mass shooting at an Illinois Bowling Alley last night. The violently random and deadly attack killed three people and left a 14-year-old teenager fighting for his life after being shot in the face.

According to the N.Y. Post, The shooting occurred just before 7 p.m. at the Don Carter Lanes in Rockford, Ill., about 90 minutes away from Chicago.

The shooting suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Duke Webb of Florida. Webb now faces three counts of murder and three counts of first-degree attempted murder for Saturday’s shooting. Webb, an active member of the U.S. Army, is being held in the Winnebago County Jail without bond.

The three murder victims have not yet been identified by name but have been described as men ages 65, 69, and 73. A 16-year-old girl was shot in the shoulder, while another 62-year-old man is in critical condition with multiple gunshot wounds. The 14-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital in Madison after being shot in the face.

“Most of the incident was captured on surveillance video from inside the business,” Police Chief Dan O’Shea said. “The investigators have the surveillance videos, and they’ll go through those,” he continued.
