Rapper Young Thug’s brother, Unfoonk, was ordered to spend 9 1/2 years behind bars after violating his probation following his plea deal in the YSL RICO case.
Monday, Judge Glanville found that Unfoonk, born Quantavious Grier, was in violation of his probation due to an arrest on a gun charge in May, which occurred less than six months after he accepted the plea deal.
During the hearing, Judge Glanville emphasized the specific conditions of Grier’s probation, stating, “In part of the special conditions, was that you were not supposed to possess a gun. And the state was very clear–”
In December 2022, Grier pleaded guilty to one count of violating the RICO Act and one count of theft by receiving stolen property. By doing so, he accepted a 12-year prison term. However, two years of the sentence were waived and counted as time already served, resulting in 10 years of probation.
Monday, Judge Glanville revoked the balance of 9 years and six months of his probation and ordered the rapper to spend it in the Department of Corrections.
Unfoonk was among 28 YSL associates who were arrested as part of the extensive RICO case that unfolded in Atlanta last May.
