Usher went easy on Dwyane Wade.
The R&B singer is known for serenading the ladies in his shows, but he chose not to sing to Gabrielle Union after he saw her hubby in the house.
On Sunday, Usher held his first La Seine Musicale residency show in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. Wade and his wife, Union, were in attendance. At some point during the show, Usher walked up to the actress to sing to her but then stopped.
“Let’s not get carried away,” Usher said. “Y’know, this is Dwyane Wade—I ain’t crazy! That man will knock my whole head off and then dunk it.”
The two men then dap each other, with Usher saying, “So happy to see you.”
The icon also mentioned the incident on his Twitter and IG accounts, writing, “Look, I don’t want no smoke😅 👐🏾.”
Wade also recapped the moment, posting to his Instagram stories, “Love and respect,” along with the clip of the moment. He also paid tribute to Usher, who was recently named to headline next year’s Super Bowl halftime show.
“They Call him—U S H E R R A Y M O N D!”
Usher hasn’t let up on other celebrities. He’s behind the now infamous moment between Keke Palmer and her child’s father, Darius Jackson. The “My Way” singer sang to her during one of his Las Vegas residency shows, and it ruffled Jackson’s feathers.
“It’s the outfit tho.. you a mom,” Jackson wrote on Twitter following the serenade. He didn’t let it go when hit with criticism for having double standards, adding, “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is. This is my family & my representation. I have standards & morals to what I believe. I rest my case.”
